I installed one about 4 years ago and found out that you had to bolt up/seal all bolt holes not used on the pump or it will leak. On my 97 caravan, only 2 were used, and I had to seal/bolt up about 3 unused holes.[...]

Swapping the reservoir was relatively easy and a significant cost savings. Although a little messier than just replacing with a complete new pump, it is well worth it. The only thing is I wish they would include a new seal for the pressure line. Fortunately, I had replaced the line before the pump to try and stop my leak but it was the case seal that was leaking.

Fire who ever makes your website. Then simplify it. Every time you open a new page you get a pop up for a discount. Look at rock auto's website it may not be as "pretty" but it works 10 times better. All of the pop ups slows down the purchasing time and time is money.

I bought this powersteering pump for my 1996 firebird (3.8 v6) My old one went out after having my car for 9+ years. I bought this pump, Placed it on my car. Was pretty easy, for you camaro/firebird people that know some items are hard to replace on these models car. I did the turning the key foward (not started (with the front lifted and turning the wheel's left and right to get all the bubbles out) After i got it all working i drove the car to test it out. It was WAY better than the orginal one on my car. I also got the power steering flud on a special discount that day i replaced it! I am happy to have my car's pump running and my car going again!

Installed the pump with all correct brackets, bolts, tension, etc. Pump worked great for my 700 mile trip in my 74. At 100 miles left I pulled over to refuel and notice an oil sheen. Started driving again and the unmistakable groan of no fluid in system. I topped off to drive back the remaining 100 miles. Upon inspection it was noticed that the thinner portion of the case that is held by the mounting bracket had a rupture in it. I do not know if it was from engine vibration (unlikely) or if the thinner portion of the pump just could not handle system pressure. Am sending back as soon as I remove from vehicle.

Found bad bearing before installation. Shaft had a significant wobble Quality control was bad and either the bearing was old and had not been replaced or the housing bore was out of tollerance! It is a tough job on my 41 Buick with a LT1 in it. Habing to do it over again would not have been any fun!!! Check out your pump closely before installing it on your engine.
