    I was afraid to tackle replacing my power brake booster on my '98 Chevy Silverado K2500, but the instructions were incredibly clear and concise. I didn't have to guess about any of the steps involved including the proper, and EASY way to fill the power brake booster lines. The most difficult part of the task was getting at the brake switch/linkage retaining clip, but after that, the old booster was easy to remove and the new booster went in nicely (except for my dropping one of the master cylinder locking nuts down into the black hole of the engine compartment, which cost me an extra trip to the auto parts store).

    Purchased this brake booster from two stores in my area. First booster, the box was previously opened, it was laying on top of the packing material and had evidence of prior installation and the check valve was missing. Refused this part. Second booster appeared to be in good condition but when I tried to do a vacuum check it would not hold vacuum. Store advised to contact manufacturer and discuss with them. They advised me it should hold vacuum. Then I noticed one of the master cylinder mount bolts was bent. Returned this item to store and they gave me a complete refund with no problem----and on the return receipt they marked RESELLABLE RETURN. Go figure!

    When the part arrived 3-1/2 Days after ordering. I removed the old part from my truck, I matched them up on the work bench just to find out it was different. So I took it back to the store, they looked it up the part and it comes back as the correct part number. So the manger ordered another one under a different part number because it looked the same... When I got home I was pretty frustrated because I cant use the truck it's disabled. I went to advance auto parts site again and looked at the photo and I zoomed in on the part. It looked just like the part I needed. So I call the manger and told him to order the same part number that showed on the site. So he did and the next morning I went to the store and matched my part with the one that came in and guess what?? It was the same part...So what happened is they sent the correct box the first time but with a different part inside.. They need to label the part with a metal tag with it's part number on it.. What a runaround but the manager worked with me because I was frustrated by this time. But now I have my truck back and the part works great and no leaks.....

    Installed the first hydraulic brake booster and it leaked as bad as the one I was replacing. Took till mid day the next day to get another one shipped to the store. I had to call them to find out it was in. The second one works fine so far. Not happy about the extra days down time or the customer service.

    The quality of the product is excellent. Instructions are clear. Inadequate packaging/handling caused it to be received with one of the two bolts (for brake cylinder) to be bent. I removed it and used the original bolt. Installed and working fine.

    I ordered the part on line and the wrong one came in (close but only 3 ports instead of four). I took it back to the local store and ordered it again and received the same wrong part two days later. I used the exact same part number, went to Autozone and the correct part was in the exact same box from the exact same manufacturer. Advance needs to figure out why they are boxing up the wrong Booster.
