The website listed this radiator as a direct fit. Upon removing my old radiator from my 1987 chevrolet truck, I discovered that my radiator was 19 inches tall, not the 17 inches that this radiator measured. Also, the mounts on top of the radiator did not match up in regards to their mounts, even if it had been the right height. If you decide to buy one of these, I highly recommend that you measure the core of your existing radiator first, and that you prepare yourself for having to modify the mounting brackets to allow this radiator to fit...... I sent it back to Advance.

Installed this radiator on a '82 C20. The radiator sits about 1.5" too high for my truck. I had to notch a bit of the aluminum on the radiator, notch the radiator brackets, and remove the urethane mounts and replace with pieces of flat rubber. I expected to make it fit. The unacceptable part is that the radiator does not come with a regular petcock. There is a brass plug installed. I bought a traditional petcock, but I could not remove the plug. It's seized in there. Whoever installed it screwed it too tight, used lock tight or messed the threads up. I did not want to risk cracking the plastic side of the radiator. So I will have to remove the lower hose in order to drain the system in the future.

Works, truck runs 180°, no leaks. Cools just fine, but core is way thicker than the original in my 90 suburban. The one advance sells that is of the same thickness as mine is only a one row. My original was a 3 row. A one row with my ac running in the florida summer is never going to keep my truck cool enough, so had to get this one. Heavy modifications made to upper core support mounts and the shroud to make it fit. Width and height were the same though.

Confused, I bought this radiator because when I inputted Vin # it stated the radiator I bought was a fit. Yet radiator doesn't fit. Glad and satisfied I got a return, though, can't wait to find the correct radiator. If they had it, yes, I would buy from this place again.

I ordered this radiator to replace the OEM product in a 6.2L diesel pickup. The shipped radiator is not as described or pictured. What is now shipped is a plastic tank/aluminum cored radiator. Very, very overpriced for that style of construction. The original is a Brass tank/Copper core with 3 rows. This one only has 2 rows in the core. It looks like it would fit, but not with the same performance as the original. Judging by one of the reviews, they must have in the past shipped the better style. Now they are shipping the cheaply made type. I returned this unit without issue. For a similar price, I ordered another radiator that was the heavy duty, all metal type. Way better radiator than the cheap plastic/aluminum one.

the radiator is well built and is the old type-copper\brass construction. but will not work on the 1985 chevy vouge II for which i purchased it. this radiator is about 6" to wide and would have to be heavily modified to fit the rv application. I would recommend this product if it fits your application.

Fit in place of my original 34 year old radiator perfectly. 1987 Chevy 3/4 ton with 5.7 and manual trans. There are two sizes- 17" and 19". Looks like a few other reviews ordered the wrong height. This ones working great so far in my old truck. cooling better than the tired and leaky old one. For the price I'm happy. It fits and works.

Has plastic tanks. These are complete trash...everyone knows this. Advertised as meeting or exceeding OEM specs. Well OEM specs on my 1987 GMC 1500 truck was for a radiator that has metal tanks on it. So you're basically getting deceived on one hand and lied to (by omission) on the other. Now I have to pay $$$ to return this junk. Absolutely NEVER buy parts online unless you're ready for some surprises. And the radiator hose I bought from them was thinner and softer and flimsy'er than the one I was intending to replace....and absolutely no internal support for such a cheaply made hose. 1 Year (chump worthy) warranty. Pathetic....garbage. I'll never buy their FLIPPO-JIPPO junk parts again!!!! Beware buying online.....I bought their best (HD) and it's the cheapest quality trash I've ever seen....EVER! Geeze.....

Bought for 1967 Olds 442 with auto trans. The radiator hoses fit ok, the trans cooling lines fit ok. Has a port near radiator cap for a temp sensor. Also looks like a port for trans cooler temp. It only has two core tubes but the tubes are twice as wide as the OEM so I guess it would compare to a four core. The end tanks are made of plastic like newer style OEM radiators. The bad part about the radiator is the OEM cradles at the top and bottom had to be pounded flat so it would fit and it was still very tight. If your looking for a drop in radiator with no modifications then this is not for you.

I bought this product for my 1969 GMC 2500 truck with small block 350. This truck had the original 3 Core radiator which was leaking and freighted with sludge. The new radiator is less than half the weight. If your truck has the 3 core radiator mounts you will need to trim the rubber to get this to fit, or order the 4 core radiator mounts from big block trucks, or trucks with tow package. To my knowledge almost no new repop radiator on the market fits the 3 core mounts without some modification. I plan to order the 4 core mounts for the top and replace the current trimmed setup, but it looks factory as is when in place. The only thing I do not care for (which is common on most new radiators) is the lack of metal insert in the fill neck, and the plastic drain plug. I did not experience any leaks on initial test. Although I have not road tested the truck this is a 3 core radiator and being aluminum / copper instead of steel / copper should offer some slightly better performance than 40yr old technology. Bottom line worked, and price was cheap, but as with any old vehicle some modification is neccissary.

This radiator is constructed of aluminum and plastic, as most are in this price range these days. I had to fabricate mounts for the radiator, but that wasn't too much trouble nor did it come as a surprise to me. The bad radiator I removed from the truck was not the original or an 'exact fit replacement' radiator. I have no idea what vehicle the bad radiator came out of or was intended to fit. The new radiator is functioning well. A 3 star rating on this website is described as: "Average, Ordinary", which fits the bill for this radiator IMO. Oh yeah... a cool thing about this radiator is that there is a threaded brass female fitting (it comes plugged) in the right-hand tank that can be used to mount a temperature probe for use with an electric cooling fan. In this case I didn't need that feature but it is a cool option to have.
