This part fit well given the tight place that it has to fit into. I used the loaner tool to install the pulley from my old pump onto the new pump and it worked perfectly. I would recommend that you get the fitting for the pressure line started before you tighten up the pump mounting bolts and then you can tighten up the pressure line completely.

Have not installed the steering Pump yet. But, dealing with Advance Auto was an absolute nightmare! And I have had and infomed Advance of the same customer issues now, as in the past. Nothing changes. I tried to order part on-line, but could not. On-line chat told to go to the store, order it, BUT NOT TO PAY FOR IT. Once in, I could go back a 2nd time to get it. The store people said the on-line system was terrible. Store folks finally took care of me. But a terrible Advance experince.

If you buy a pump that does not have the reservoir already attached then be prepared to pull the pulley again and then take it off and try putting an O-ring or something between the new pump and reservoir only to watch fluid leak and then repeat the process. Get a pump with a pulley then attach the two hose to it then attach it to the vehicle and add fluid and then check for leaks which you should not have and then bleed and be done with the project and drive you vehicle with confidence. Or you can keep taking the parts apart and trying to figure out why it leaks all your fluid out on the ground and the power steering quits working after 20 minutes!

I installed one about 4 years ago and found out that you had to bolt up/seal all bolt holes not used on the pump or it will leak. On my 97 caravan, only 2 were used, and I had to seal/bolt up about 3 unused holes.[...]

I bought ......actually my girlfriend bought this pump. I told her to find a "new ac delco" pump. She fpund this for reasonable price and being new w/reservoir it seemed like a good idea. Ha. Within a year I've had to replace it three times. Now on the 4th pump. 2nd and 3rd pump leaked from around the shaft immediately after installation. Drove car for a couple of months that way, out of frustration. Its a pain to replace the power steering pump in a grand am. This last time I i even changed both power steering lines ( high and low pressure) in case im crazy and the leak was from the fittings, not the pump. Well, i just changed the pump again for the 4th time. Leaking as soon as filled it with fluid. Leaking from the shaft seal. Lifetime warranty, yippy. Would have been better off buying a reman from a good company than this "NEW" pump with "lifetime warranty". I think they meant ill be guaranteed to be changing the pump for the rest of my life. Very frustrating.

Spent the extra for a new unit vs Remanufactured to avoid issues. Installed this and flushed the system before hooking the lines up, figured it wouldn't hurt to have fresh fluid all throughout. From very nearly day one I have had puddles getting bigger and bigger and adding fluid to the reservoir a lot. I tweaked the lines a little tighter to no benefit. I ended up replacing it with an AC Delco unit and my worries have gone away. So much for buying new, there is another part I wont stray away from OEM now...
