A transfer case is a vital component of today’s highly complex AWD drivetrain systems, and the failure of its components such as the transfer case motor, clutches, and bearings is a definite reality. Its job is to constantly synchronize the difference between the rotation of the front and rear axles. Problems arise when this difference in front to rear rotation slips outside of predetermined parameters due to uneven front to rear tire wear, for instance. This excessive difference forces the motor and the clutches to engage more frequently leading to their accelerated wear. This also leads to quicker break down of the transfer case fluid due to additional heat. Therefore, Rein highly recommends its FLDF002 OE transfer case fluid when replacing the transfer case motor. Rein OE Transfer Case Overhaul Kit is a solution kit developed to perform a complete overhaul of the X-Drive transfer case. The kit is comprised of the sprocket, shims, clutch pack, chain, gears, and other necessary internal components. Until now, the only solution to repair these failure prone transfer cases was to replace with a complete assembly at the dealer or install a used assembly at the local shop. No other options were available due to no offering for internal components. This kit specifically caters to the chain drive portion of the ATC 45L transfer case.
