The Camshaft Position Sensor plays a vital role in your engine’s operation, to determine the exact position and speed of the camshaft(s) to the ECM. The ECM uses this information to determine fuel and spark timing as well as VVT operation. A failed sensor can result in a check engine light, hard starting or failure to start, increased vehicle emissions and engine misfire.
