The factory power take off unit (PTU) on certain Ford, Lincoln, Mazda and Mercury vehicles often fails when extreme temperatures overheat the internal lubricant. In extreme cold conditions, the factory seals can fail and cause oil to leak from the unit. This patented, 100-percent newly manufactured Dorman OE FIX¿ PTU has been redesigned for greater resilience during thermal extremes, and features an added heatshield to reduce internal temperatures as well as a drain plug to allow easy replacement of the gearbox lubricant.
