Dorman – Suspension Lateral Arm And Ball Joint Assembly (Part No.527-168)

Suspension Lateral Arm And Ball Joint Assembly

from

$99.99
The factory rear suspension control arm toe compensator link on certain Ford Flex, Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS and Lincoln MKT vehicles can fail when the welds on the link’s threaded shaft ends fracture. A fracture of this rear lateral link significantly diminishes steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. This Dorman OE FIX rear lateral link has been designed as an alternative to the factory design, and as a potentially more permanent suspension repair that could reduce long-term repair costs and offer more predictable vehicle handling. This lateral link includes features intended to address potential failure points in the original equipment design. Our design reduces the possibility of lateral link fracture and failure by replacing the original link’s welded threaded shaft ends with ends that are solid, one-piece steel castings. To further increase resistance to fractures and help improve suspension load distribution, both of the threaded, cast shaft ends are 18mm in diameter instead of the 14mm diameter shaft ends on the factory design.

Product Features:
  • Smart fix – this lateral link is designed to reduce the possibility of a weld fracture that can affect steering control, and to improve suspension load distribution on select Ford and Lincoln vehicles
  • Sturdy design – features 18mm diameter threaded shafts on solid 1-piece castings, rather than the 14mm diameter, welded 2-piece design of the factory link
  • Rigorously tested – has undergone material and fine element analysis to ensure durability
  • Trustworthy quality – backed by a team of product experts in the United States and more than a century of automotive experience
