The FAE MAP sensor, absolute pressure of admission, detects the air pressure at the inlet of the vehicle and turns it into an electrical signal which is sent to the engine’s electronic control unit (ECU) in order to regulate the stoichiometric mixture. The temperature of various systems must be reported to the engine control module (ECM) as well as other operating system controllers in the vehicle.
