The ABS or Anti-Lock Brake System ECU monitors the Wheel Speed Sensors rotational speed for anti-lock brake function, stability control and traction control. The ABS sensors report the speed of all four wheels to the ECU to determine if the wheels are locking up and to help provide safer stopping. Reasons for replacement include: ABS/brake lamp illumination, no or erratic ABS operation or problems with stability and or traction control systems.

The Battery Current Sensor reports the movement of electricity to the body control module to control the vehicles charging system and to report any possible battery drain during a key-off condition.

The Brake Pedal Position sensor is similar to the Stop Light Switch but is a more critical sensor input to the vehicle stability system. The vehicle stability control module requires the exact location of the brake pedal during a vehicle skid so that a controlled brake pressure may be applied to each individual wheel in an attempt to straighten the vehicle position out and back into control.

The Brake Fluid Level sensor reports the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir to the anti-lock brake control module. A low brake fluid level indicator will illuminate in the instrument cluster to the vehicle operator.

Modern vehicles may have 100 or more electrical harness connectors in every operating system of the vehicle. Terminal tension may weaken with time or corrosion may occur within the connector housing making replacement necessary. When replacing any harness-connector assembly approved wire termination methods must be followed to ensure a successful and long-term solution to the original problem is made. A failed terminal connection, terminal corrosion or damaged wire will result in an electrical system fault.
