• The Ambient Air Temperature Sensor measures outside air temperature and is used by the heating and cooling control system, along with other vehicle cabin sensors, to control temperature and blower speed.

The temperature of various systems must be reported to the engine control module (ECM) as well as other operating system controllers in the vehicle.
