This sensor did not provide the correct voltage levels for my engine and started generating faults, I had to put the previous sensor in for the engine to work correctly. I inspected the wiring and verified the connections and the mechanical installation and found everything else to be correct. I've been having problems buying non-OEM sensors lately and this "Lifetime Warranty" part was no exception. After this I used the OEM part with no issues. I was on a sensor carousel until I replaced my non-OEM sensors with the factory OEM sensors. I do not recommend these or any other brand non-OEM sensors. If you're asking why I change the crankshaft position sensor to begin with was, I had a camshaft sensor fail that I thought was OEM, but wasn't. The engine wasn't firing, but would eventually catch and barely run. I also had no RPM being reported. I couldn't believe the cam sensors were bad because they were newer, supposedly OEM parts, so I swapped in this crank sensor and all that happened was I had a new fault (sensor performance/voltage error). I put the old one in and the fault went away. After I realized the CMP sensors were probably the problem, and replaced them and the car ran good. I have since put a new OEM crankshaft sensor just to be safe. This sensor was installed on my 2012 Malibu LS (LE5 VIN 0).
