The new ceramic high-temperature glow plug (NHTC glow plug, New High Temperature Ceramic) has a fully ceramic heating element. It reaches an operating temperature of 1000C in two seconds and can afterglow for up to ten minutes at temperatures up to 1350C. That means: It glows in push phases or during the regeneration phase of the particle filter and thereby minimizes the particle emissions during this time.
