Even though Advance auto and Auto Zone say this is an exact fit for your 2006 Toyota Avalon, it doesn't fit. The Toyota mechanic gave it a try, buy the OD of the coil is smaller than the OEM, and when the spring nests in the spring cup retainer on the bottom, it is for a bigger spring, so it is off center, and that means you'll be compressing the spring OFF AXIS. This will result in a different Spring Constant Value, and distort under load. This is a liability for you to use.

BEWARE: DO NOT BUY THIS PART! Do not buy this spring to replace your OEM TOYOTA springs. Although the top and bottom diameters of the springs are the same as the OEM springs. The middle diameter is not the same. You will understand what I am referring to when you take your OEM spring off the strut. You will have a difficult time installing these springs with the spring compressor they rent. And after you have installed the spring you will notice that the inside diameter of the coil spring will come in contact (rub) with the strut itself. Therefore every time you turn your steering wheel you will hear a "clunking" noise because the coil spring will hit the strut. I would not recommend buying these springs because of this bad design. I do not know what MOOG was thinking but Toyota designed the springs to be offset diameters for a reason. I found an OEM Toyota supplier online that sells the coil springs at $60 ea or $120 pair. BUYER BEWARE: I purchased these springs to replace a broken OEM spring. But after wasting my time installing these springs. I realized now I will have to do the job twice because the springs do not work as intended. Learn from my mistake to save yourself the wasted time and agony.

the front springs are wound differently from the toyota OEM type. this means that the coil diameter is much smaller. this then does interfere with the strut rubber protective boot. because of the smaller wind the spring compressor is much harder. took longer to get the new springs compressed than the work time to disassemble.
