Used this flasher in 1987 4runner after switching to leds, I just had to make a "pigtail" to wire it up been working great for 2 weeks.
This part is needed when up grading to led light bulbs.
Put in my 1997 Geo Prism LSi to change the 1156, 1157, & 2057's to 84 LED 115x equivalents and all was perfect. No resistors are needed on each LED bulb as with newer CANbus cars with hyper-flashing. It WAS a pretty nice hassle to remove the ORIGINAL flasher unit from under the dash which was living peacefully there for almost 22 years, but that was the only issue. New scars on my knuckles will remind me of this one. This Flasher unit makes ALL lights flash the same rate no matter what combination of bulbs or types of bulbs you use. If you are going to go over to LEDs on a car that uses this style flasher unit, this is simply a MUST HAVE, and a NO BRAINER. The cost of this flasher is the same as roughly TWO resistors and you have to wire FOUR of them up, one for each flashing bulb. The Costs vs. Hassle saves, this one wins on every one.

The flasher seem to work adequately, but the word loud for the flasher was incorrect, it should say moderate
From Kingston, NH
Bought this to replace a near silent flasher in my Firebird. It works oinn the sense that it flashes the turn signals properly and it's audible with the engine off, but it's not much louder than the 40 year old stock part. Not worth the extra money.
Bottom Line not recommended
