The electric motor drives a gear which engages with the engine’s flywheel located at the rear of the motor, when the motor is energized, the motor will turn the engines crankshaft. A low amperage wire winding within the solenoid will create magnetic force when voltage is applies from a remote switch, such as the ignition switch or another type of remote mounted switch.
