HEI owners now have a choice to replace their stock coil with the MSD High Energy Unitized Coil for GM HEI Distributors. This coil is a direct replacement of the stock coil and offers increased spark energy when used with the MSD HEI Module, PN 83647.

GM Dual connector coils mount directly in place of the factory coils and accept the factory connectors. Spark energy is increased thanks to improved materials and windings that were spec’d by MSD engineering.

Top off your GM Ignition system with these great new replacement coils. The GM Coils have MSD performance in factory-style housings. MSD designed these Coils by combining our Blaster Coil experience with E-core coil efficiency. Each coil has a unique turns ratio plus there is lower primary resistance than the stock coil. This all amounts to a bolt-in replacement coil that produces more output voltage. The Coils will work with stock ignition systems as well as MSD equipped cars and trucks.

Engineered for higher energy output resulting in quicker starting, improved idle quality, crisper throttle response and more high RPM power. The Mallory Promaster Classic series ignition coil is designed to meet today’s specialized ignition requirements. This coil features a faster rise time and increased spark duration (compared to stock) to increase performance. It has a glass-filled polyester case and oil-filled construction to ensure a long life and no energy loss from arcing. This coil also offers excellent wire retention with a spark plug type secondary post, and brass contact terminals.

The traditional ACCEL combination of yellow wire and red spark plug boots has been added to these SuperStock Spiral Core 5000 Series wire sets, which feature color-matched wire and spark plug boots in blue, black, and red. With only 500 ohms/ft. of resistance, more ignition energy can reach the spark plug, producing a longer-lasting, hotter spark flame kernel. The results is higher performance through improved efficiency, quicker throttle response, and reduced emissions. This 8mm wire’s double silicone construction is rated to 550 degrees F. The oversized 8.8mm wire features a double silicone construction rated at over 600 F and 60kV. High gloss black silicone wire jacket not only looks great, but resists heat extremes, petrochemicals, ozone and moisture better than so-called blended materials for greater durability and longer life. High-density, high-temperature silicone insulation provides greater dielectric strength and eliminates arcing and the effects of corona better than typical OE style rubber materials. Routing spark plug wires is an art form. It takes patience and time to route your wires away from the headers, through separators and to the distributor cap. Some wire sets fit perfect, but a lot of people want to build their own so they can route them exactly how they see fit.
