Flywheel and flex plate bolts play an important role in the performance and safety of race cars and street machines alike. That is why the fastener experts at ARP have developed special bolts that are far superior to OEM hardware. ARP offers two styles of flywheel/flex plate bolts: High Performance and Pro Series. They are both forged from aerospace alloy and heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining. Both feature an exclusive, flat, 12 point head design and larger than stock shank diameter for increased strength and improved flywheel register. The popular High Performance series is rated at 180,000 PSI, and the premium grade Pro Series, originally developed for NASCAR competition, has a 200,000 PSI rating.

M/T FLYWHEEL BOLT

ARP offers two styles of Flywheel bolts: premium grade Pro Series, with a 200,000 psi rating and High Performance, with a 180,000 psi rating. They are both heat-treated prior to thread rolling and machining, feature an exclusive, flat, 12-point head design and larger than stock shank diameter for increased strength and improved flywheel register. Kits include washers and nuts where applicable.

The job of a flex plate is to allow for expansion of the torque converter as engine RPM increases. Broken flex plates can not be repaired, they must be replaced. The Hays 10-130 is a flywheel designed for use with an internally balanced Chevy V8. This is a 168 tooth flywheel that weighs 30lbs. Fits all 1955-1985 Chevy V8s except 400 and 454 engines. Hays steel flywheels are manufactured from certified billet material that will not break under the stress of high RPM and severe punishment of racing. This flywheel is drilled for Diaphragm, Long style, Borg & Beck and Mark XII style clutches.

ATP Flywheel Shims install easily restoring machined manual transmission flywheels back to the proper height. On automatic transmissions the shim takes up excessive clearance caused by engine crankshaft endplay or by installing a rebuilt torque converter or rebuilt front pump.
