1965 Mercury Cyclone Performance Flexplates

As performance levels increase, an O.E. style flex plate just won’t cut it and a stronger option is a necessity to prevent transmission and/or converter failure. B&M has you covered with our high-performance flex plate designed for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury (externally balanced) 289 and 302ci V8 engines with 28.2-ounce imbalance. Features include high tensile strength steel to resist elongation and cracking, an 11.4-inch bolt pattern, and 164 tooth ring gear. The assembly is then Zinc plated and treated with a Chromate Conversion Coating for added corrosion resistance and durability. B&M flexplates are ideal for hot rods, street cars, tow vehicles, or other vehicles needing the added protection and toughness that B&M has been delivering since 1953. Compatible with C4 and C6 automatic transmissions.

Hays heavy-duty flexplates for Ford 385-Series high performance and competition engines are constructed of a thicker than stock steel plate, enabling them to withstand the stress of high-stall torque converters and high-RPM engines. While factory stock plates tend to crack around the crankshaft hub when punished under high torque and RPM conditions, the thicker Hays flexplate handles the force. These flexplates are supplied with a ring gear that is securely welded in place. All Hays heavy-duty flexplates are zinc-dichromate plated to resist corrosion and are SFI certified under specification 29.1.

Hays Steel Flywheels are manufactured from certified billet material that will not break up under the stress of high RPM and severe punishment of racing. All Hays flywheels are certified S.F.I. spec 1.1. This flywheel fits the big block internal balanced 352, 390, 427, 428, 429, 460 CID Ford for 1965 through 1972. This is a 184 tooth flywheel that weighs 40 lbs. Requires an 11 in Borg-Beck, Long or Mark XII clutches. This flywheel is thicker than stock and may require a bellhousing spacing or a Lakewood bellhousing to eliminate interference. Flywheel bolts included. Other applications available.
