Caliper fits like it's supposed to and stops the vehicle like it's supposed to. But to get to that point, I had to return the first unit to the store after destroying the bleeder screw trying to open it. Despite using the proper size flare nut wrench, the screw had been over-torqued or cross-threaded to the point where ordinary hand torque could not remove it. I was eventually left with a stub of a bleeder screw that could not be removed and had to take it back to the store for an exchange. Fortunately the second unit had not been reassembled by a gorilla and the job was completed without further incident.

Product was great, but make sure you line up those two little 7mm Allen bolts perfectly before turning that wrench. Fortunately they sell oversized self tapping bolts with 1/4 inch Allen wrench head.

Does this caliper come with the banjo bolt

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Hello there Jason. We researched the contents of the box and found that the banjo bolt is not included. You would typically reuse the one you have but if you can not your local store has an assortment and can find one for you.

        • Q:

What do they mean by "unloaded" caliper. dose it mean without
          brake pads?
          Asked on 5/19/2015 by truk

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Hi Truk, glad to assist you! The difference between "loaded" and "unloaded" calipers is simply what is included with the caliper. Most parts stores offer a "loaded" caliper, which includes the brake pads, clips/pins, and other necessary hardware needed to do a brake job on your own. An Unloaded caliper is just the caliper and the piston - no pads or other hardware included.

        • Q:

if I smell brake dust and hear a poping noise, do I need a new caliper?
Asked on 6/4/2012 by chubby from Pensacola, Fl.

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

The most common reason for brake dust smell is a stuck caliper. Stuck calipers are usually caused by dirt or corrosion that hinder the caliper's movement. The car's wheel cylinder can also become stuck due to dirt or corrosion. A stuck wheel cylinder causes the brake shoes to continue pressing on the drum despite a release of the brake. The brakes will then smoke and emit a bad odor. Rarely, debris can become lodged in your brake system and cause your brakes to smoke. We would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
