I opted for this new hardware kit with my pads and am glad I did, as old parts were broken that were included here, so it saved me a trip back. This included all moving parts and springs needed to really make the brake job all new. All parts matched factory take-offs exactly. Well worth the extra money to do this, too.

I was only able to use some of the parts that came with the kit. The star wheel on the adjuster, had the points aiming the wrong way so it would never be able to adjust itself and the adjuster had the bends all wrong so it never came near the star wheel. I bought two kits, one for each side and ended up having to re-use some of the original parts from the car to complete the job. I was pressed for time and could not return the kits, I needed to get the job done and had to do so with only partial new parts.

Quality parts, fit like OEM, still think these should be included in the drum hardware kit, just my opinion.

The adjusting hardware on both rear drum brakes was replaced with this product with no installation issues. Time will tell, but these parts seem to be a top-notch quality.

Comments about Wearever Drum Brake Self-Adjuster Repair Kit:

I completed a brake job on my 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac using these new replacement products. After installation the drums would not fit back over the new brake shoes. After I checked every component for proper installation I removed the brake adjusting screw which was screwed in to it' shortest length and measured it and then measured the original adjusting screw that I had removed. The new replacement screw was 1/8 inch longer than the original screw that it was to replace. I filed the new adjusting screw down to the same length as the original screw and reinstalled it. The drum then installed with no further problems. This problem made my brake job out to be a major pain.
