Walker Cat

Just a replacement CAT for my 95 YJ. Pretty straight forward, its designed for OEM replacement. Suggestion is to go ahead and just replace the entire system if you can afford. Get the front pipe, cat, muffler and tail pipe. Specially if they all are clamped together. Unless you have access to a torch to heat up the joints that were clamped together... you're going to have a heck of a time trying to pry apart the front pipe and muffler away from the cat. i wound up doing the whole thing. With the great online coupons / discounts i wound up ordering all the parts cheaper than most places near me. Everything came via ups and earlier than anticipated and matched up exactly to what i ordered and what was needed for my Jeep.

Direct Fit, almost

Front pipe was welded on an angle so it did not align with rear pipe causing the muffler to be either too high or too low.

OK, but why didn't it last?

it says direct fit, but the pipe sizes are different, leaving me to figure out the correct adapters I need to get it installed without any leaks. Also - two years ago this vehicle failed emissions; the garage said most likely the cat-converter. I reaplced it then with the exact same part #, and it passed with flying colors. I figured two years later - no problem but I was wrong. It failed again. After looking at other possible failed components and replacing them, it was back to the cat-converter. I reaplced it again, and it passed again. Why couldn't this last longer than two years/10,000 miles? I'm disappointed!
