    Comments about Walker Muffler Strap:

I needed a hanger/clamp for my car , had checked them out but all were NOT the exact fit. This one was and it went on with no problems. I had to replace the old one as the exhaust was hanging off the car ! Luckily I was able to find this replacement at Advance Auto and know it was the right one. It is made well and should outlast the car. It came with all I needed to install it , quite easily took only a few minutes and ready to go. Seems to be sturdy and holding up great. The best part is it didn't break the bank !

Perfect fit if you also use the Walker hanger. The original hanger is a bit different. Easy to do.

            Comments about Walker Muffler Strap:

I don't know why others are complaining so much about this muffler clamp. I doubt their problem is with the clamp. Problem probably lyes with the person, not the part. I have a 2004 Cavalier LS. This clamp is same as OE. Gauge of steel, placement of hanger and bolt are all identical to original clamp. All one needs is a 9/16 wrench to complete the 5 min job. I'm very happy with this clamp. Before your purchase, ensure this clamp is the correct one for your car. There are two types. The difference is the clamp hanger itself. Its very easy to determine the one you need simply by looking at the clamp and hanger currently on your car.

Wrap around the muffler, slide into rubber grommet, tighten 1 bolt, done. Entire installation less than 5 minutes.

                      A:

I'm glad to assist, John! There are two brackets that Walker suggests for the rear section of exhaust on the 1995 Chevrolet Beretta 3.1L V6. Walker Part No. 35285 and Part No. 35720. For the 2.2L L4 there are two of Part No. 35262 listed.

To ensure you are looking at the correct parts, please ensure to include your vehicle's engine size when searching for parts.

If this part does not have to be welded on then how is it attached?

                    • A:

I believe the original poster was inquiring if the tongue portion of the strap has to be welded to the vehicle's frame in order to secure the strap, not if the strap itself needs to be welded to the muffler. The answer to the welding question is still no due to the fact that there is a separate metal bracket sold by Advance (if the current bracket is broken or the rubber insert is deteriorated) that the metal tongue on the strap slides into. Thanks.
