Comments about Wagner Disc Brake Pad:

The Wagner Thermo-Quiet pads are my favorite OE replacement pads. I would, however, like it if this particular set came with slider shims. I had to clean up the ones that came with my car. Other than that, I've had great results with this Wagner line, and plan on sticking with them in the future.

    • Q:

It took me 2 hours to figure out which rear brake pad is correct for my car. I have the J55 brakes on my 08 CTS, the same as all other 08 AWD CTS, and FE3 models, per trunk option code. All the parts store info on the rear CTS brake pads is incorrect, all stores, not just this one. Only the Cadillac owners forum had the correct info. One) There is no JL9 brake option on a 08 CTS. Two) The standard brakes are JE5. Three) The optional brakes are the J55. The rotor info is correct , the J55 has the larger dia rotors.
The front pads are correct now. The J55 uses 1331 pads. The rear pads are what is wrong. Both the JE5 and the J55 uses the same 1337 pad in the rear. There is no JL9 version on a CTS.

The J55 brake is only on the AWD model for 08. It is on the FE3 / RWD option for all years.

I hope this helps someone else and the store (or Wagner) corrects the computer.
