I replaced 3 sets of these bulbs in 6 months. They burn out very fast. These were installed on my 2006 Saab 9-3. I have now switched from Sylvania completely as I no longer trust the brand. I installed a set of EIKO headlamps that use 55 watts as opposed to 70 for the Sylvania. Therefore they do not run as hot which is better for the life of the bulb. The filament is made of tungsten which adds to the durability of the bulb as well. The set costs $13 less and I could tell right away that they were even brighter than the expensive Sylvania brand bulbs.

Comments about Sylvania H7 SilverStar Halogen, Pack of 2:

Low beam replacement is difficult on Subaru Outback. OEMs lasted 5 years. SilverStars lasted only 11 & 12 months. Will only use OEMs in future.

      Good bulb

Comments about Sylvania H7 SilverStar Halogen, Pack of 2:

Found out on my own that you have to remove the small plastic spacer from the old bulb and put it in the new one. Clip that holds the bulb In place is a little tricky. My hands are large so it was hard to get to.

with discount paid about the price of standard bulb price. However the improvement in visibility is much better than oem brightness and width of beam. I don't know if the life expectancy is worth it yet but I do have a year under warranty in case. Feel its more safer driving conditions at night and wouldn't go back to standard bulb. Color is true white. Would prefer a xenon bulb if it had same lumens and longer life expectancy. Installation in my vehicle is difficult expect to scrap your hands and use a mirror.

Not necessarily hard to install. Just did not have it right side up which I did not know about. Also, I did not have the other one plugged in all the way which I thought I did.

The color temperature better matches the temperature of the OEM HID headlamps on the 2012 Genesis R-Spec sedan. Installation can be somewhat difficult as it requires some removal of surrounding engine accessories to gain access to the lamp holders (or try someone with very small hands). Need some H8 Silverstars for the fog lamps.

I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual for your vehicle. This will have many of the locations of parts needed for a variety of repairs.

Out of two headlights, one went out in 6 months and the second one went out about two months later for a total of 8 months. Package claims 12 months of complete satisfaction so I am going to try and ask Customer Service for a replacment. However, they are only available in the day time (9 to 5 or something like that) making it harder for me to contact them unless I take some time off from work.

No there are brighter after market bulbs. You would find those on ebay or some other place that sells after market parts.
