  • Q:

This tank FITS and IS THE SAME SIZE AND CAPACITY for the 1973-1977 Monte Carlo's. ONLY the filler neck angle and length are different. Why doesn't the fuel tanks manufacturer know this? The tanks shown for the 1974-77 Monte Carlo's have only a 19 gallon capacity. NOT THE SAME as original. I've owned 2 Monte Carlo's over 2 decades and they ALL have 22 gallon capacities for the 1973-1977 year models. No lie!! So, I just wondered WHY this reduction in tank size exists? 19 gallons is NOT OEM original from GM on the 1974-77 Monte Carlo's.
