  • Q:

i just needed to know, are the valve lifters located inside the cylinder head? i need to replace the hydraulic lifters due to lifter tick, i have tried to find a cylinder head diagram to show me but i cannot seem to find it anywhere.

I'm happy to help, Richie! These ATK Vege Remanufactured Cylinder Heads (Part No. 2857) fit 2009-2010 Toyota 2.4L L4 DOHC engines and is a complete cylinder head, including camshafts. The cylinder head is designed for vehicles with VIN: 0. Here are some additional details provided by ATK Vege:

FI, LAX(Eng. Desi.), DOHC, 16Valves, Toyota(EngineMfr), Complete Head Including Camshaft

You mention that you are looking to replace the cylinder head due to lifter tick. You may not require an entire cylinder head replacement. There may be a procedure available to adjust the valve clearance. I suggest checking a repair manual for your vehicle for the proper procedures.
