    Comments about Sealed Power Lifter:

These are roller lifters so you don't have to worry about wearing down your cam shortly after replacing your lifters like flat tappet lifters.

            A:

For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.

            A:

Well this all depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience. If lifters are bad you will usually hear ticking noises coming from the valvetrain area of the motor.

            Inside the engine.

Answered on 9/27/2010 by Mike the master of auto parts from AAP
          • A:

Lifter (a.k.a Tappet): (in valve gear) a usually cup-shaped element (one for each valve) which slides on the cam lobes and converts the rotary motion of the camshaft into the reciprocating motion of the valves; the tappets actuate either push-rods, rocker arms, or valves directly.

Figured that was a little better than, "Inside the engine."
