Although I had my doubts about using ramps this lightweight, I'm happy with this product so far. I have two SUVs to support, at 4550 GVWR and 5550 GVWR respectively. These ramps easily support both, without any sign of flexing or instability. I wouldn't recommend them for vehicles much over 6000 pounds, but they'd probably be OK in a pinch.

Looks can be deceiving - these ramps seem to be well-designed. The nesting option saves precious shop/garage space, and the light weight is a welcome change. The supporting structure appears to sport a redundant design, allowing for one section to fail without total collapse. The plastic, while thin, is extremely stiff and deceptively strong. I'm confident they'll each support 2 tons all day.

The lift height is perfect for my S-10 Blazer - oil changes, starter replacement, inspections will be no problem. Looks like they'll accomodate all but the lowest vehicles regarding front-end clearance.

Of course with any ramp this light, slipping is likely to occur. That's the tradeoff. The rubber anti-skid pieces help somewhat, but not that much. However, that's a problem you can mitigate fairly easily by placing rubber mats underneath, or otherwise securing the ramps against something solid. A minor hassle perhaps, but more than offset by the weight and size advantage. The mats do a great job of preventing skids, so I'll simply accept that as a requirement. Beats jacks and jackstands any day.

If they hold up over time, this will be one great bargain. 4 oil changes and they're paid for.

Neg have a 06 impala didn't well with this car removing the oil plug Needs to be a few inches taller. had difficulty getting up the ramp needs a longer approach angle for low cars was hitting part of the air dam on this car. Positive liked the bump stop to keep from off the end of the ramps.light weight, stackable, easy to store. works well on hard dirt surfaces doesn't dig into the ground like some metal ramps do.

Cons

Comments about Rhino Gear RhinoRamp MAX:

I wish I could give these 10 stars. I am a 50 plus year old female. I needed transmission solenoids changed and could not find a shop to do the work. So still in love with my SUV I decided to do it my self. Hubby was afraid to work with a floor jack and jack stands and advised that I was going to kill myself. Not to be discouraged I tried these and boy oh boy what a difference. I rolled on the ramps, put the car in park, engaged the parking brake, placed jack stands, and chocked the wheels to be extra safe. When it came time to reinstall parts and the pan, and reinstall bolts Hubby, no longer afraid, climbed under the car and did the work.

Well made and sturdy. They work best if you place the ramp up against the tire before pulling onto them because they tend to slide on smooth concrete.

Comments about Rhino Gear RhinoRamp MAX:

Was able to get the car raised as need with this ramp. Before attempting to use, watching instructions and techniques on YouTube will help a lot. It does slip on smooth surface if your garage is painted. Works like a charm in the driveway and other not so smooth surfaces!

Nothing beats a lift--or a lower bay like an oil change station--but this is the best option for those doing oil changes and coolant flushes in their driveway.

          A:

Hi Paul! This Rhino Gear RhinoRamp MAX (Part No. 11912) can holds upto 16,000 pound GVW and it can take a tire up to 10-1/2-inch wide. The exact 12" wide ramp is unavailable online. However, I would suggest that you visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store to check the availability of this part.

I want to change my Transfer case fluid on a 2006 Range Rover, Would I have more clearance using the Rhino Ramps vs a floor jack? All assistance is appreciated.

        • A:

I will be doing this same service on my 2006 LR3 (Disco3), I have measured the vehicle and in the 'off road' terrain response setting you should have at least 14" of clearance. I plan on using 4 of these to raise both ends of the vehicles to replace the front and rear diff fluid as well, LR recommended when changing the transfer-case FYI. Check out Atlantic British (google it) for videos on where the drain and fill plugs are.

Hi Rover, happy to assist you! This Rhino Gear RhinoRamp MAX (Part No. 11912) has 16,000 pound GVW (gross vehicle weight) capacity and the overall height is 8.5 inches. It will work with vehicles sitting at least 5 inches from the ground and still have clearance. They do have a 17 degree incline, so the best option would be to measure the angle from the base of your front tire to the front bumper to see if it is 17 degrees or more.

Will this ramp have enough clearance for a 2016 Kia Forte 5ex
Asked on 10/9/2016 by Tony from Atkinson, nh

          A:

I'm not sure, Tony! The innovative CoreTRAC non-skid base of this Part No. 11912 helps reduce slippage while the 17 degree incline provides easy use for low clearance vehicles with a 16,000 pound GVW (gross vehicle weight) capacity. It measures 6.5" tall, 10" wide, 35" long - inch. Note that the height/width measurements were taken to the actual area where the tire sits. There is about an additional 1 to 2" - inch plastic lip on the sides and back that cradle the tire once it's firmly at the top of the ramp.
