PurolatorONE Cabin Air Filters prevent airborne contaminants like allergens, pollen, dust mites, dirt and soot from entering the passenger compartment of your vehicle. The cabin air filter also aids in defroster performance and helps to improve overall driving comfort by encouraging better airflow through the vehicle. Replacing a cabin air filter every 12 months or 12,000 miles improves air quality in the vehicles cabin and helps to protect the A/C system. PurolatorONE Cabin Air Filters are available in particulate and carbon configurations, covering most vehicles on the road today. Refer to owners manual for recommended maintenance schedules.

No, my truck does not have one!

Comments about Purolator Cabin Air Filter:

I ordered this product online, after the Advance Auto Parts website said that I had a cabin filter in my newly acquired 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche. After taking the housing apart and the glove compartment, I found that the directions that came with the filter were not correct. My truck does not have a cabin air filter, as I contacted our local Chevy dealer, and they informed me that there was not a place to install it.

Comments about Purolator Cabin Air Filter:

Bought a "new" used truck and went through the usual filter and fluid replacements - purchased this on my todo list - turns out there shouldn't be a listing for a 2003 Silverado as it wasn't an option in 2003 per GM Service bulletin.

I'm sure it would have worked well if the truck was so equiped. Would have been nice if Advance wouldn't have offered it as an option since the truck doesn't use one. More upset about the lost time than the lost money.

        • Q:

I ordered and paid for one of these air filters. I have searched the vehicle, and unlike the instructions that came with the filter, there is not where to replace the filter.

I went to the local Chevy dealer's parts department. They looked through their parts inventory and also the the pictures and there is not a cabin filter on the year and model.

What is a retrofit part? Can a filter be adapted to work either in the cowl area or under the dash?

Hi Dave! I can only look them up by a vehicle. To give you the correct information I would need the year, make, model and engine size of the vehicle.

Cabin filters are generally found in one of two locations: under the hood or under the dash board.

        • Q:

You should not list this product for a 2004 Chevy Avalanche. There is no cabin air filter for 2003 and up Chevy Avalanche vehicles. 2002 was the only year this vehicle had a cabin air filter.

The Cabin Air Filter is usually located behind the passenger side glove box. To find more information about your cabin air filter location on your specific vehicle, I recommend visiting your local Advance Auto Parts store and purchasing Haynes Repair Manual. The book will provide you with the cabin air filter’s exact location, and inform you on how to replace the filter. The Manual will also inform you on how to replace any part on your vehicle, and what tools you will need to complete the task.
