No, Don't buy.

This product was used and returned to AdvanceAutoParts. Then sold to me as new. Very dirty practices. See the product already used when I got home and trying to use.

Comments about Permatex Anti-Seize Lubricant (8 oz):

This products performance is well known, legendary perhaps. I've used it for decades without issue. I've typically used the small volume tubes. My initial experience with the product was a train wreck. Over time, I got quite savvy at dispensing anti-seize compound without getting it all over everything except for the the part intended. I figured it was time to go big or go home. I'm glad I did. I got a discount and I have a huge supply of product that comes with a convenient brush for application. The best part for me is that I don't feel that I have to skimp when I apply the product to spark plugs, nuts, bolts, whatever. I can use this excellent product with wanton glee! Win-win.

Works well. A little messy, but should help remove the bolts if/when I have to do it again. Used it on my spark plugs and the bolts holding the plug caps.

      A:

Hello Don, Happy to answer that question for you. You can use this on the spark plug treads. In the cap there is a large brush, be careful not to get the anti-seize on the tip of the spark plug, and to torque the spark plugs properly.

  • Q:

Is this stuff OK to use on the bolts that hold the front brake caliper bracket to the steering knuckle? This has always been a hard to remove bolt on my wife’s car and I always wind up buying new bolts due to the extreme measures used to get them off. I use the shop manuals torque spec when installing. The concern is if the bolts could back off if they are lubed with this when installed. They have a lock washer.
Asked on 4/6/2010 by tws from NY state

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Yes this should be ok to use on those bolts. I also recommend that you use PB blaster when taking off the bolts.
