No, Don't buy.

This product was used and returned to AdvanceAutoParts. Then sold to me as new. Very dirty practices. See the product already used when I got home and trying to use.

Makes a mess of everything but it also allows parts to come apart easily. I use the permatex brand anti seize frequently

Splurge and buy the jar w/ brush, for speed, clean, ease

Comments about Permatex Anti-Seize Lubricant (8 oz):

I definitely didn't need 8oz, or even a full 1 oz tube, but for less than twice the price, i got a delivery system that was far superior.

Initially i purchased the 1oz tube ro replace all my badly rusted steel undercarriage bolts with 316 grade stainless steel (marine grade...will essentially never corrode, crevice, pitting, etc)

It was difficult to apply with the tube to 75-90 bolts, time consuming, messy (silver was everywhere on the car, transferred from my hands, and a pain to remove. Even the manual/power tools were covered)

So I bought the jar, and it was super easy to apply a nice even coat, didn't get all over my hands/etc, undercarriage, body. It was also much faster to apply than from the tube, and i could use the brush cap ad a stand, to keep it upright and not get all over everything like the tube did.

      A:

Hello Don, Happy to answer that question for you. You can use this on the spark plug treads. In the cap there is a large brush, be careful not to get the anti-seize on the tip of the spark plug, and to torque the spark plugs properly.

  • Q:

Is this stuff OK to use on the bolts that hold the front brake caliper bracket to the steering knuckle? This has always been a hard to remove bolt on my wife’s car and I always wind up buying new bolts due to the extreme measures used to get them off. I use the shop manuals torque spec when installing. The concern is if the bolts could back off if they are lubed with this when installed. They have a lock washer.
Asked on 4/6/2010 by tws from NY state

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Yes this should be ok to use on those bolts. I also recommend that you use PB blaster when taking off the bolts.
