This Performance Tool W80557 Tie Rod End/Pitman Arm Puller removes tie rod ends and Pitman arm assemblies from cars and light trucks. With an opening size of 1-1/8-Inch and a pull travel of 2-1/8 in., this tool works on various vehicle suspension types. The center screw is heat-treated, and the yoke is made of forged alloy steel. Featuring a 3/8 in. drive square port to allow for use with a 3/8 in. drive ratchet. Don't get stuck on suspension components or struggle with a pry bar - this puller tool makes overhauls simple.

a robust product, works as intended on my Avalon tie rod end
saw 3 products online at Advance, this one had more 5 stars than the others.....and I will add to that...Of the 3 choices, THIS appears to be the one to buy, for my sedan anyway (don't know about trucks) This is quite a robust tool, and fit the tie rod end of my 2007 Avalon perfectly. Put some oil on the screw for maximum axial force, and gently and slowly tighten it...and the rod nicely pops off. A tip to DIY folks....leave the nut on the tie rod end, loosened a few turns to provide clearance to release. Then when it POPS free....nothing flies around, it's captured, but loosened.

Small size and no returns
This is small size. I tried to fit another small tie rod puller from advance auto to remove the ball joint for an Odyssey tie rod. It did not fit and slided on one side. Finally I used a pry bar and hammer for the job. Also, advance auto of Jersey city rt 440 refused to take any pullers back. I had the packaging intact and within 20 days of buying. I was honest and told them that I used it. They just said that since this is used they can't sell it again and won't take it back. Disappointed. I actually tried buying this tie tod puller from advance auto but that too did not work and no returns. I tried to return this one only after few days. I tried the job long after buying parts and tools from advance auto.
I bought all tie rod pullers in stock and there were 2. Both did not work on my Odyssey. May work on smaller cars. Measure and beware of no returns.

It worked well for pulling the pitman arm off of a 2006 3500 Dodge ram

Should have bought a day earlier
Spent 2 hours trying to remove a tie rod end (without destroying for reuse) on a 2007 4Runner with no success. Heat, rust penetrant, hammer no luck. Picked this up the next morning and had it separated in 5 minutes. Great tool worth every penny.
