Q:What is the distinction between right and left? I need to replace the rear 2 bank 2 oxygen sensor and am having trouble figuring out the correct one to purchase.
A:When it states Bank 1, Sensor 1, Bank 2 sensor 1, Bank 2 sensor 1, or Bank 2 sensor 2, they are refering to the location of the sensor. Bank 1 means the side of the motor that the number 1 cylinder is on while Bank 2 is the other side of the engine ( when speaking about V-designed engines). Sensor 1 is the oxygen sensor before the catalytic converter and sensor 2 is the oxygen sensor after or on the catalytic converter.
