      This is the seal that goes around the input shaft at the front of the tranny.

    how do i put this in my tranny?
    there is a leak at the rear of the trans where the
    driveshaft inserts to the tranny.

      The part you are looking at is the input shaft seal. If the transmission is leaking from where the rear of the transmission where the driveshaft inserts into it, you need an output shaft seal or extension housing seal such as this part:

      National Seal part #7692S $9.99
