My truck had a miss that continued after replacing spark plugs and wires. computer check was still showing that the number 1 spark plug had issues which led to replacment of the coil pak. In stock for convienent pick-up. easy to install. A socket and ratchet with 10 minutes of time and was ready to drive. Just placed it beside the old one and transfered the spark plug wires over one by one. Instant correction of the miss. Test drive of the truck exhibited increased power and performance with quick accelleration. Improved gas mileage as well.

Replaced the ignition coil on my Ford Freestar. The coil is on the back of the engine.
The wiper motor and cowl have to be removed before you can get to the coil. I replaced the ignition coil, spark plugs and wires so I wouldn't have to repeat this process. It took almost 2 hours to complete.

Comments about Motorcraft Original Equipment (OE) Ignition Coil:

More expensive, but worth it. If you don't buy the OEM coil pack, be sure to check the primary and secondary resistance before you bring it home--some knock-off brands are bad right out of the box.

The coil pack worked great.

Comments about Motorcraft Original Equipment (OE) Ignition Coil:

My old coil pack had two cracks causing a voltage leak resulting in misfires and a rough running engine. I was also getting P0171 and P0174 codes along with various misfire codes from P0303 to P0306. Now I am getting no codes and the engine runs smoothly. Also before going up hills I din't have enough power sometimes due to the misfires but now I have full power. :)

ordered online and part was available immediately from local store. it was an exact replacement and fit perfectly. Installation was a little bit of a pain (due to Ford's engine design) but was manageable for a "non"-mechanic

My daughter's Ford Taurus was throwing a code P0301 indicating a misfire on cylinder #1. After replacing the spark plugs and spark plug wires the misfire was still there. I replaced the coil the misfire went away.

If you look at each wire ans SEE where it goes it will lead to one or more---if it is one--they will lead to one main pack---if not then they have three or six

              A:

Sorry, this Motorcraft Original Equipment (OE) Ignition Coil - part# DG532 is not a sprak plug. This is an ignition coil which delivers a spark of several thousand volts to the spark plugs at exactly the right time from a 6 or 12-volt battery. The distributor gets the spark to the right place at the right time in what is called the secondary circuit. The primary circuit initially created the large spark, and at the heart of the primary circuit is the ignition coil. For any further assistance, please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
