Q:I have a 2007 chevy silverado LT. The rear end is worn out and I am doing a complete rebuild. I need to find my gear ratio, and if its less than 3.73 than I would like to put 3.73 in it. I also need to make sure this kit has replacement Races. So aIll together I need all new gears, and a rebuild kit. I want to make sure I have everything I need.
A:Happy to help, Tank! We will need more information on your Silverado. I would recommend that you check with the nearest Advance store and our Parts Pros will help you locate an exact bearing kit for your project.
Q:I have a 2008 gmc sierra 1500 4x4 5.3L SLE pickup.... Will this fit both front and rear on my truck?
A:Hi Brian, glad to assist you! This Motive Gear Differential Master Install Kit With Koyo Bearings (Part No. R10RLMK) is an exact fit for your 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 5.3L SLE pickup and it fits only rear.
A:Hi DonutHunter, I'm happy to help! Yes, this is the correct kit for both front and rear rebuild. The kit contains differential bearing kit plus ring gear bolts, pinion shims and carrier shims.
A:I'm happy to help, DonutHunter! This Motive Gear Differential Master Install Kit is not the correct part for your 2002 Chevrolet S10 4.3L V6 4WD LS. This is a bearing kit for a rebuild of the rear differential. If you do believe you need a full rebuild there are more parts that would be required to complete the job. Part No. 741B004A or Part No. 741B004B are the correct bearing kit. The former is with non-shouldered bearings, the latter is with shouldered bearings. You may also need a new ring and pinion and spider gears. Spider gears are not available for your front differential on AdvanceAutoParts.com and the ring and pinion ratios available are 4.10 Part No. GM7.2-410IFS and 4.56 Part No. GM7.2-456IFS. If you need more options I suggest seeing if your local store is able to source the parts for you. Another option for replacing the whole differential is to purchase one from a salvage yard. In many cases this can be quicker and cheaper as setting gears can be quite difficult. In either case a repair manual can be quite helpful, Haynes Part No. 24071
