Comments about MOOG Hub Assemblies Front Wheel Hub Repair Kit:

Hard to go wrong with Moog. They've made quality suspension parts for years. This is no exception.

I'm seeing other posters complain about bearing quality. I suspect it's actually how the product was pressed together. If you don't know what youe'r doing and don't use a press, you will ruin the bearing causing it to last about 10K miles. This is not a hammer and vise in the driveway install. You need a press.

Comments about MOOG Hub Assemblies Front Wheel Hub Repair Kit:

Front replacement for my 99 Saturn SL2. A few things to note about the install.
          1) If you do not have an air hammer, take the knuckle off and bring to a shop to have pressed. Installing the bearing in the knuckle is easy; taking the old bearing out of the knuckle is HARD. You are not using a hammer and a screwdriver, nor are you using a c-clamp and a socket. You need an airhammer or a press.
          2) You MUST support the inner race during bearing install. If you do not, the bearing will last about 10,000 miles. Many times, shops will not support the inner race and they will fail quickly. Doing the job yourself can avoid this.

Comments about MOOG Hub Assemblies Front Wheel Hub Repair Kit:

The bearing is pressed on. There is no way to remove and install the bearing using commong shop tools. I had to buy a 12 ton press from [@] (about $130), a bearing and race driver from [@] ($30), slide hammer ($50) to remove the hub. Be sure to remove hub first- a major, major hassle if you do it after steering knuckle removed. First time job will take the better part of a day. An experienced installer with all of the tools in the shop will need 1-2 hours. The job is not hard, but there is a lot of physical labor involved.

Comments about MOOG Hub Assemblies Front Wheel Hub Repair Kit:

Bought this a year ago when changing brakes I noticed play in the bearing. I have my own press and wheel bearing removal/install kit, and have done several in the past. So the kit comes with everything needed (except axle nut) and it is easy to install, if you know what you are doing. I was happy with it as the previous bearings were only a year old and all was good. Well I went to change my winter wheels back to the summer wheels, and found slop in the bearing. EXACTLY 1 YEAR! The other bearing is holding up, for now. Car wasn't driven hard and roads it saw were actually pretty good, so no potholes. It is my daily driver that goes 40 miles daily and worst it saw was some winter weather. The original bearings lasted 240,000 miles and now even high quality name brands last maybe 10,000 miles.
