With help of Advance and You-Tube, this novice mechanic got the job done and saved a ton of money. Went with this product because the reviews on cheaper ones scared me off, as I knew I didn't want to do this job twice. My only suggestion would be to include replacement bolts with the bearing, as my son and I really cut into some corners of bolt heads as they were on so tight, but we made it work. But so far so good after two weeks.

I had the same humming noise come back after 10 months, 20k miles and thought it must be the other front bearing. After replacing that I found it was the one I already replaced. Good thing for the 3 yr warranty. You may need it. Originally bolts are very hard to loosen; I turn the wheel all the way to either side to allow the long wrench handle clearance while removing. Bought the Driveworks bearing last week for the other side, we'll see how long it goes.

Comments about MOOG Hub Assemblies Front Wheel Hub Assembly:

Just installed it this weekend. Part fit great. It would be nice if there was a way to get the torque requirements with the part. If I remember correctly, 118 ft# on the wheel nut (1.25" socket), 65 ft# on the three bolts to the hub (13mm, deep and regular with extension sockets), and 75 ft# on the two for the caliper bracket (15mm socket).

Comments about MOOG Hub Assemblies Front Wheel Hub Assembly:

The front wheel hub assembly for this 2002 Chevy Impala was an exact fit. The removal of the old hub assembly was not too difficult. It is necessary to remove the rotor and brakes. Be sure you support the brake caliper so that is does not hang by the brake hose. Without supporting the brake caliper you can rupture the bake hose. Support it by using a coat hanger or some mechanics wire. Remove the three bolts on the back side which holds the hub assembly in place. To remove the hub assembly, use a hammer to hit it from the back side of the hub. Keep hitting the back side all the way around the hub assembly. It will start to come out. Finish getting it out. Be sure there is no part of the hub left in its housing. Clean the housing with sandpaper to remove any corrosion. Put a little grease on the housing and install the hub assembly. Coat the three bolts with anti-seize lubricant or grease. Tab the assembly in place them start the bolts. Tighten the bolts a little at a time to draw the hub assembly into place. Once in place, torque the three bolts to specifications. Install the rotor and brake assembly. Torque the wheel to specifications.

                  A:

After you have noticed your wheel hub and bearing is bad, you may unfortunately be driving when it goes out. If the bearing goes out while you are driving, the wheel may seize up. That means it will lock up and no longer turn like the rest of the wheels. One wheel not spinning may cause you to swerve off the road. Your wheel may also fly off the car. If the bearing goes bad while you are driving, it may also cause transmission problems. You won't be able to drive your car anymore after the bearing goes out. When the bearing goes out, it can also weld or melt to the wheel hub. For any further assistance, please visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.

Yes. This has the correct mounts for ABS sensors. It will work in cars with ABS and cars without... As long as the partfinder says it will fit. Get this one, it's got a three year warranty. This is important in the north where winging roads, frost heaves and potholes big enough to swallow your car are everywhere.
