Comments about MagnaFlow Stainless Exhaust Tailpipe Tip, Round Tip, Inlet Inside Diameter - 2.5 in.:

Not installed yet but they look good. Will have to order some thin band clamps and slit the end to crimp it to the tail pipe. Don't want to use standard Ubolts. Rolled and angled tip look sharp on the truck.

I have an 89 Crown VictoriA LTD. Its a V8. If i were to by these pipes and weld them on my car with the factory exhaust system will my car sound deeper or do i need to replace and buy a whole new flowmaster exhaust system for it to sound deeper?
Asked on 4/3/2014 by Keemo from Elizabeth City, NC

        1 answer

I'm happy to help, Keemo! If you are looking to change the sound of the exhaust on your 1989 Ford Crown Victoria LTD V8, you would want to change your muffler. You do not necessarily need to purchase a Flowmaster if you prefer the sound of another exhaust system. I looked up your vehicle and found two V8 options - 5.0L Fuel Injected and 5.8L Carbureted. For the 5.0L Flowtech has multiple exact fit options for the vehicle. For the 5.8L there are no exact fit listings. The exhaust, however, lends itself to custom design well. If you are not able to fabricate an exhaust yourself, there are many exhaust shops that can help (try the 'Need repair help?' link further down the page.) To determine which exhaust tone you prefer, I suggest searching forums and video postings online for people who have recorded their exhaust to get an idea of the sound each muffler produces. Muffler manufacturers may also have clips of the exhaust tones on their websites.
