I used this product on a 2004 alero gls 6 cyl engine. I brought the car in for an oil change and had them add this before adding the rest of the oil. I was hoping it would quiet a lifter that was noisy for the first 10 to 15 seconds of running when the car sat for hours. It did not do that, in fact it seems like the lifter keeps making noise even longer now. I hope this was not a mistake. I have been driving with this in the engine for a few weeks now. Time will tell.

my vehicle calls for 7 qts. I use Mobil 1 full synthetic. would it be a problem to exceed 20% as in 5 qts oil and 2 lucas stabilizer?
Asked on 6/8/2016 by jerry from lakeland fl

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

No, Jerry, using Lucas Stabilizer will not void a new car warranty. Stabilizer is a 100% petroleum product that will blend with both synthetic and non-synthetic oils. For more information, I would suggest that you contact the Lucas directly at 800-342-2512 and they would be in a better position to help you.

  • Q:

will it work with royal purple
Asked on 7/22/2014 by rob from kentucky

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

I'd be happy to help you with that! It will work with any brand oil you wish to use. I personally would not recommend using it with Royal Purple because it might risk the possibility of over-lubricating the engine. Royal Purple is one of the most lubricating oils out there so this product is not really designed for it. If you would like to still use it, I would recommend checking with the manufacturer before hand to see if there is the possibility of over-lubricating. The contact number for Royal Purple is 281-354-8600

  • Q:

im a lil bit confused here. the inst says to pour in 1 qt for every 4 qts of motor oil. if i change the filter too my capacity is 4.2qts. pepboys told me to use one less qt of oil and this stuff.

my car is a 2003 lancer oz & the fsm states that Engine oil capacity: • 3.5 dm3 (3.7 quarts) [add 0.3 dm3 (0.32 quarts) if replacing the oil filter & 5w-30 is prefered sae.So after reading the first reply you recommend pouring in 4.2qts and the full bottle of the stabalizer ? i just wanna be sure im reading this right.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Sorry for any confusion caused. It is recommended that you add this Lucas Oil Products Pure Synthetic Oil Stabilizer with every oil change (20% Stabilizer, 80% Oil). The rate in your 4.2qts of motor oil would be like: 0.85 qts of this Lucas Oil Products Pure Synthetic Oil Stabilizer and the rest filled with recommended engine oil. You may also use the stabilizer to top off between oil changes in order to help reduce oil consumption in an older engine, or maintain peak performance in a new engine.

  • Q:

the directions call for 1 qt of stabilizer for every 4 qts of oil...my car calls for 6.5 quarts of oil...does that mean I should put 5.5 qts of oil then 1 wt of stabilizer, or do I put in 6.5 qts of oil, then an additional qt of stabilizer?

It is better to add 6.5 quarts of oil and then add additional stabilizer.

    • A:

sorry but i might be wrong, but my truck takes 5 qts oil. So i put in 4 qts oil and 1 qt stabilizer this gets me the 5 needed qts. When i took motor rebuilding in school they said it is just as bad to have too much oil in a engine because the spinning crank and rods cause a foaming action, causeing air to get in your oil system. So too much is just as bad as not enough correct? This is in responce to the second or third answer.
