had an oil pump fail in a truck the driver only brought it back in because the valves where real loud tapping.it wasn't pumping enough oil to keep the lifters pumped up. i took pan off and the pump drive gear was loose on the shaft that drives it. checked bearings they looked good and what could be seen of cam from bottom. so put another oil pump in. that was 5 years ago the truck still runs great thanks to that sticky slippery stuff staying where it was needed when the oil wasn't.[@]

        • Q:

How much Stabilizer can be added to Lucas 85W-140 gear oil to reduce Ring and Pinion noise. Pinion and Carrier bearings have all been replaced. Gears looked in good condition so did not replace them. Apparently I should have because there is still some gear noise. Will this help because the gear lube was replaced with standard 75W-90 lube?
          Thanks!

        • Q:

I am going to be driving from Tampa FL to Los Angeles CA this summer. I drive a 02 Mazda protege lx with 120K miles. I have been using conventional oil up till now. For this very long driver a friend advised me to start using a full synthetic such as Castrol edge or Mobil 1 ) and adding Lucas oil stabilizer to it as well. Would this be a good idea, or should I stick to just switching over to synthetic OR should I use conventional motor oil and add Lucas to it?

          Thanks.

        • Q:

How to use this product? I am not very handy and if this product just involves emptying it in the car's gas chamber then I can do it. If it involves putting in the oil chamber or something it would be hard.

Can someone shed some light on how to use this product? I know instructions may be on the container, but I need to know since I will be ordering online.

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

It is recommended that you add the Oil Stabilizer with every oil change (20% Stabilizer, 80% Oil). You may also use the stabilizer to top off between oil changes in order to help reduce oil consumption in an older engine, or maintain peak performance in a new engine. Put in a quart each time you change the oil in your car. You should be able to go at least 50% longer between oil changes and your engine will last much longer. In addition to being great for your engine, you can also mix it 25% / 75% in the transmission and 50% / 50% in the differential. Lucas Oil Stabilizer blends with any petroleum-based or synthetic oil, and is formulated for gasoline or diesel engines.
