- Professional Mechanics will change this tensioner in approx. 20 minutes.
- Accessory drive belts and tensioners are manufactured with similar design life targets. Since belt removal is required to change the tensioner, replacing both will extend the system service life and lower labor costs versus individual replacement.

My tensioner pulley was making a really nasty noise, the engine was always loud since I bought it at 42,000 miles, I did not realize what was happening, the serpentine belt was still intact. I got on the ground and looked up at belt and could see the tensioner pulley was cutting into timing chain cover. So I bought a new tensioner and A+B high heat epoxy (to re-seal hole in timing chain cover), cleaned timing chain cover with paint thinner , applied A+B epoxy, installed new belt tensioner. WAITED for an hour for epoxy to set up. Started my 2014 Ford E-250 Van and it is very quiet. My friend Stosh (auto mechanic) said I could also use silicone to seal timing chain cover. I love Advance Auto they have a good website and give you accurate info
