Q:what is the line pressure solenoid on 2005 pontiac vibe the code on the computer is (p2716)
A:The throttle pressure that is applied to the primary regulator valve modulates the line pressure causing the line pressure solenoid valve to precisely modulate and create line pressure according to throttle position or engine load. This modulation action controls the line pressure which in turn provides smoother shifts between gears. When the powertrain control module (PCM) receives the throttle position opening angle, the PCM controls the line pressure by sending a predetermined duty cycle to the solenoid valve. The line pressure solenoid valve controls the transaxle line pressure for smooth transaxle operation based on signals from the throttle position (TP) sensor and the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).When the PCM detects a continuous open or short to ground in the line pressure solenoid circuit, then DTC P2716 sets.
