Honda Accords have a history of not starting because the solder on this unit cracks. You can re-solder if you want or just buy one and plug it in. This is a bear to get to but once that battle is over the rest is just plug and play. If you car starts once in awhile then Do not give up on you high mileage Accord until you replace this part or repair the old one. Just check online and you tube to get instructions to do the repair/replacement.

Junk

Didn't even work right. I stuck with the old one that if it acts up you just hit it and it works just fine.

2001 Honda / Acura Fuel Injection Main Relay Replaced.

Comments about Intermotor Relay:

When it comes to electrical - a lay person is left wondering. I only figured this problem out by carefully listening to the shifter interlock "click" while pressing the brake pedal when the key was in ACC / pre-start position and the car was on. Also noticed the green "key" light on the dash would come on (after turning the key on) only when this intermittently failing relay was working. So I start fiddling with wires near the brake pedal and found I could cause the relay to click on and off by wiggling the wires / plug / relay box. Not wanting to invest further, I would simply press on the plug to start the car. Eventually, I had to press the plug while driving on the highway because the car would stall while in motion - due to the failing fuel injector relay in this part. When it got so flaky the car would not stay running, I took it apart and considered re-soldering the faulty joint. Rather, I purchased this relay with a 20% discount from local store stock and it works just right. I will point out that if you take the cover box off you will see why it is so cheap; with large wire coils and actual spring actuators, it is a far cry from the sophisticated OEM innards, With such an old vehicle, I'm sure it will last long enough.

Comments about Intermotor Relay:

The main relay was exactly the part that I needed to solve the hot no start issue. My 2000 Accord EX wouldn't start when the car reached normal operating temperature.

    Comments about Intermotor Relay:

My car failed to start sometimes. But if I wait for 30 mins I can start it. I did some research online and found out it was a common issue on Accord related to Main Relay. I bought this part and installed it. It fits well. Hope it will solve the issue.

The location of the main relay is under the dashboard on driver side. To see it you need to put your head above the paddles and look up. It is not difficult to reach it.

The installation is pretty much easy. No tools is needed. By pushing it up and waggling it in the same time you can easily slide the old main relay out. Then replace it with the new one and put it back.

These Acuras have this specific relay go bad routinely. Glad it was in stock and inexpensive. I bought it online, got the online discount and picked it up in the store same day. It doesn't get any better than that.

This BWD/Intermotor Relay - part# R4819 is an exact fit for your 2003 Acura TL. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
