I had the idle surge issue....codes po-505 and po-505 pd ....the car would idle high as if I were holding the gas pedal down then I would rev the engine and let off the gas and it would rev on its own,so it seemed .... I tried to take the iac valve apart and clean it and it did work for about two days but eventually I ended up having to buy a new iac valve.....the part so far has worked fine and definitely fixed the idle problem I was having.....spray some brake clean in the intake to clean it since you will be taking off the throttle body....hope this helps somebody!

Disappointed - I purchased this part 1 yr + 1 month ago and it started sticking (note 1 year warranty). So I ordered a new one. I picked up at store and found it was not denso and was not packaged correctly (just loose in the box). Same brand I purchased a year ago was bubble wrapped and looked new.

Fixed idle fluctuation, easy piece to replace.

Comments about Intermotor Idle Air Control Valve:

Replaced valve on 2003 Honda Odyssey. Worked perfectly to stop idle speed fluctuations. On this engine, no need to remove any part of the throttle body or air feed tubes as long as you're flexible enough to reach underneath to undo two philips head screws and a single cooling water line. Comes with a gasket, and the throttle body has a groove to fit the gasket, so no need to even worry about alignment. 20 minutes is a good estimate.

Comments about Intermotor Idle Air Control Valve:

Easy install. 2 phillip screws underneath. Take the throttle body off. Pick up a new throttle body gasket. Relearn procedure is easy. Hold idle at 3,000 RPMs until engine is fully warmed up then let idle for 5 minutes. Done

Comments about Intermotor Idle Air Control Valve:

Simple fix for a 2003 Acura. It was revving up & down between 1,500 & 2,500. Had to take the throttle body off to get to the bolts that held it on of course. Wasn't all that dirty but just enough to make the computer notice it. Put the new one on & it purred like a kitten. It's been a month & no problem yet.

Comments about Intermotor Idle Air Control Valve:

Compared prices for a week and took a chance. Given the consistent ratings and low-price and ease of install it was hands down the best decision I could have made. The old Idle Air Control Valve I cleaned/scrubbed/and soaked to until I could waste no more time. It was as if once the new one was installed the curse was gone!!!!!! It started right up on first try, no problem. I tried to duplicate the engine surging problem and could not do it. Thanks for having this product available it reduced allot of inconvenience.

Comments about Intermotor Idle Air Control Valve:

My 1998 Honda Accord developed a surging/hunting idle problem when the weather was cold. After extensive research, I found out that I needed to address the idle air control valve. I first cleaned the IAC valve, but it made the idle surge problem worse. I then bought the IAC valve and replaced my worn out one. After starting the car, I saw that my idle surge problem was solved completely. For those who want to do this repair job, also clean the throttle body of buildup.
My car runs like new again, and gets better gas mileage.

                      A:

Generally we don't want to reset. If it doesn't read means, Turn off the engine. Disconnect the negative battery cable and reconnect the IAC electrical connector. Wait two minutes, reconnect the battery cable and start the engine. The computer should now control idle speed accurately.
