Comments about Intermotor Camshaft Sensor:

If your Sonata's Check Engine Light, have the store run the codes. Chances are it's the Camshaft Sensor. This was such an easy fix...well, easy to install. It took me longer to FIND the sensor on the engine! It's on top by the way (drivers side), on the backside where the "lift hook" is mounted to roll the motor forward during major service. You have to remove the lift hook first. Once found, 15 minutes to replace the CEL was gone.

Hello there Cindy happy to answer your question! Facing the engine with the hood up the camshaft position sensor will be on the right side of engine head near where the PCV (positive crankcase vent) tube connects to the head. If you are still having trouble finding it we suggest checking a repair manual or a certified mechanic.

      A:

Hi Sonata! There is no resistance spec for this CARQUEST by Intermotor Engine Camshaft Position Sensor (Part No. CSS1719). It is a hall-effect style sensor. The only way to test this accurately would be to use a lab scope.

It depends upon the skill level of the person performing the operation. For installation, I would recommend purchasing a repair manual.
