I replaced the compressor & receiver/drier on my mother-in-law's 2003 Accord 2.4L (118k mi.) due to a bad clutch. Per Denso's instructions, I adjusted the new compressor's oil, and I also added the proper amt of oil to the new rec/dryer per the manual. The car's label stated the system takes ~17.8 to 19.4 oz of R134. I knew I didn't need to add any more oil to the system, so I bought this can of R-134 that states it has 19 oz on the front but says nothing about containing oil. I expect to save time & know I charged it correctly by just emptying the whole can into the system. I did just that, but when I was disconnecting my hose from the can, I noticed oil coming out of it. Confused, I turn the can over and in the fine print, it states it has 16 oz of R134 AND 3 ounces of oil. So, not only did I undercharge the gas by 1.8 oz, I overcharged the oil by 3 oz. What also irritates me is that I told the AA employee that helped me that I didn't want any oil in what I was buying.

Been using this Freon for years on all my AC needs. It really does get colder than the rest of the other stuff, plus with a coupon it makes it closer to being the same price as the cheap stuff.

Please make sure that you are using the low side service port to fill the Interdynamics Arctic Freeze Ultra Synthetic R-134a Refrigerant (19 oz.) (Part No. AF-6). The low side service valve is located in the line that runs from the compressor through the evaporator (firewall) and up to the condenser on the low pressure (suction) side of the system. R-134a Recharge hoses will only fit on the low side service port on all R1-34a vehicles and R-12 vehicles that have been converted to R-134a. For further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

    • A:

you have to have engine running and compressor must be running (engaged). If compressor is nor engaged it will be necessary to unplug fitting on (electric plug) on the dryer and jump-out the plug by inserting a piece of wire into the holes in the electric plug with air conditioning running full blast inside car. If compressor is not engaged you most likely need to have compressor replaced.
