With reference to this Imperial Flex Fan Spacer Kit - part# 252008, a flex fan and its spacer are parts of a car motor used for cooling the engine. The flex fan is mounted on the car engine and works every time the engine is turned on. Both the flex fan and the spacer are made from metal, either aluminium or stainless steel. Remove the existing fan and shroud from your car, using a Phillips screwdriver. Note that the assembly is mounted on the car engine. Carefully set aside the removed parts. Mark the new holes for mounting your flex fan by placing the fan against the back of the radiator. Remember that the exact location is between the radiator and the engine. Use a marker to indicate the hole locations. Rotate the blades by hand to make sure they are free from obstructions. Spread the fins through the marked holes with a Phillips head screwdriver. The flex fan has nylon bolts that must be placed into the shroud holes and then twisted through the car's radiator. Make sure that the flex fan is secure in its place and safely mounted onto the radiator. Install the spacers made from rubber discs, the washers and the speed nut as well. Use a utility knife to cut any excess from the nylon bolt, but still leave some for possible adjustments later. Disconnect the negative terminal from your car battery before wiring the new flex fan. Also, connect the positive terminal to a power source with a wire from the provided kit. The power source must be a 12-volt low-amp source such as a fuse box. Connect the wiring harness from the flex fan assembly by following the instructions for your fan model. Wires in the installation kit must be connected to the terminals and to the air conditioners, but the connections depend on the flex fan model. Adjust the temperature you want on the thermostat to finish the installation.
