Griot's Garage Heavy-Duty Wheel Cleaner: Powerful & Safe for All Wheels, 22 oz.

I've been buying this by the gallon for years now and it has eliminated the need for any other wheel cleaner. I have found it to be safe on my wheels, especially important after another brand stripped the color from my Porsche crest centercaps. I suggest using the foam sprayer and applying the wheel cleaner to dry wheels. This addresses the concerns others have commented on about coverage and the product sticking to the wheels. Hosing the wheels down and then spraying on the wheel cleaner just dilutes the product. I was not aware that the formula had been changed until I refilled my spray bottle recently. I immediately noticed that the smell is better and that it was noticeably more effective. So I went to the website and saw that the formula had been changed. That's Griots for you. They take a product that is just about perfect and make it even better.

I am a big fan of Griots product and use many of them. This one was a total dud. I sprayed it on my custom chrome rims after a recent snow storm in Portland Oregon. I followed the directions and videos as prescribed. I keep my rims always clean and in pristine condition, these rimes have plenty of geometry requiring a lot of manual effort to conventionally clean. I bought this product believing from the product description details that cleaning my chrome rims would be simplified, less time, and they would actually look better. My rims had a lot if build up from recent snow which included deicer, gravel, all laid down on the roadways. This was the second snow storm in this area. After the first snow storm, I used muscle and tenacity to get them back to pristine condition. The product arrived after the second snowstorm, and i was excited to use it. I power hosed the rims, applied it, and did exactly what I always do in terms of scrubbing and cleaning and this product did NOTHING to accelerate or facilitate road grime and dirt removal. ZERO. Same manual effort as before. And, in fact, it did not even touch areas where the grime had condensed. I still had to toothbrush through every place where there was build up. NO DIFFERENCE from the first snowstorm where I only used the car wash. It did not change color as advertised. What it did do was create a ton of suds during the rince...WORTHLESS.
